A while back I, along with my friend Felix, had the idea that I would create a game based on the 2D motorcycle platform model – in particular elastomania.
However, the game I create would be in 3D, and it would be a Unicycle.
When I embarked on my attempt to make such a game, I quickly realised that it was quite a big feat indeed. The physics behind a Unicycle turned out to be fairly complicated and I actually had to do a lot of research into fairly complex trigonometry – mostly reminding myself of what I learned in my University maths days – to get it to work the way I wanted it to.
What I came up with is really just a shell of a game but a fairly good idea that a game could be built on top of.
The idea has long since come to a bit of a halt, but who knows? Perhaps in future I might come back to this and turn it into a finished game.
I thought I’d share what I have with you, so here it is:

The latest of my creations has been completed. “Bye Plane” is a 3D endless runner game in which you are given control of a biplane and attempt not to crash into the oncoming pillars, or the walls, or the ceilings and floors for that matter. Please enjoy and let me know what your high score is!
Did I mention that game i made “Dodge the Carrots” has its own theme music? And that I composed it myself? You can go check it out over at my soundcloud page:

And here it is! A brand new game! Dodge the Carrots has been under construction for quite some time now, but it’s now ready to be released to the general public.
Dodge the carrots is a top-down 2D arcade game, where the object is to avoid giant carrots that are thrown your way. The player has the option to upgrade their character by collecting coins and are awarded throughout the game with items which help you to defend yourself.

I’ve been working on my next game, called ‘Tank Maze’. It is a top-down adventure/puzzle game in which the player must control a tank, collect five coins and get to the finish, all while dodging and shooting enemies. The Music is available on my Soundcloud page. Take a listen:
version 1.1 of Tiny Robot Vs Gross Slime is here. I fixed some bugs in the original version, so this one is a lot more playable.
Download the updated version here:
I didn’t add any new levels or anything. I wanted to keep the simplicity of the original, but making it actually playable.

So during Innovative Learning Week at my University this year I spent two days doing a course called “Introduction to Game Design” which was organised and taught by a guy who goes by the name Rossay. You can check out his website here.
I worked with a small team developing a game and by the end of the two days (plus an extra day) we had made our own game. The game is available for download here.
As well as doing a lot of the programming, I wrote all the music and sounds used in the game. Have a listen here:
The course was so much fun that I decided I wanted to become a games developer, And I am currently working on my next game: soon to come!
